1-Day Clinical Training · Melbourne, August 2026
Where Zhu's Scalp Acupuncture Meets the Real Clinical World
The exclusive 1-day clinical immersion that bridges seminar learning and real-world practice. Treat real patients under the direct guidance of two direct disciples of Professor Zhu — with a maximum of 5 participants.
You Know the Theory. But Are You Ready for the First Real Patient?
You've completed the Basics of Zhu's Scalp Acupuncture. You understand the scalp zones, the theory, the clinical rationale. You've seen live demonstrations and practised the needling technique in a classroom setting. But when you return to your clinic on Monday morning, you face a different kind of test. A real patient sits across from you — not a fellow Acupuncturist at a seminar, but someone who came to you because they've run out of other options. A neurological condition. A musculoskeletal presentation that doesn't fit the textbook case. And no Dr Zhu looking over your shoulder. This is the gap that Zhu's Scalp Acupuncture seminars — no matter how good — cannot close by themselves. The Acupuncturists who achieve remarkable results with Zhu's Scalp Acupuncture didn't just attend more seminars. They found a way to get supervised clinical experience — working with real cases, making real-time decisions, and receiving immediate correction from someone who has seen thousands of complex presentations. That is exactly what the ZSA Guided Clinical Training provides.
How do you apply Zhu's Scalp Acupuncture on patients with complex neurological conditions you've never treated before?
How do you adapt your approach in real time when a patient's response isn't what you expected?
How do you integrate Dao Yin — therapeutic movement — into a live treatment with a patient who can barely lift their arm?
Clinical mastery doesn't come from knowing more theory. It comes from treating real patients with expert eyes watching every decision you make.
Not a Seminar. A Clinical Immersion.
The ZSA Guided Clinical Training is a structured 1-day clinical immersion. You are not an observer — you are an active treating Acupuncturist.
Active Patient Treatment
- You treat real patients presenting with internal medicine, musculoskeletal, and neurological conditions
- Expert guidance at every step — from case assessment through to needle placement and Dao Yin instruction
- Real-time clinical reasoning discussions with Dr Shy and Dr Chang
- Immediate feedback on your technique, needle angle, and patient communication
Supervised Group Practice
- Practise advanced needling with direct correction from two ZSA Taiwan directors
- Learn how expert Acupuncturists assess, adapt, and refine treatments in real time
- Observe how a complex presentation unfolds across a full treatment session
- Ask every clinical question you've stored since your last seminar
Live Clinical Demonstrations
- Watch authentic clinical scenarios — not textbook cases selected for simplicity
- See diagnostic acumen applied to patients who present with multiple, overlapping conditions
- Observe the clinical thinking that separates an experienced ZSA Acupuncturist from a well-read one
- Learn what Professor Zhu's direct disciples watch for in every treatment
Three Things That Only Happen When You're Actually in the Clinic
You Develop Clinical Confidence, Not Just Clinical Knowledge
There is a world of difference between understanding a technique and being confident enough to apply it on a complex patient. The ZSA Guided Clinical Training closes that gap — not with more lectures, but with supervised repetition under expert correction. You leave having already done the thing you were afraid to do.
You Learn the Adaptive Clinical Thinking That Seminars Can't Teach
Real patients don't present cleanly. Zhu's Scalp Acupuncture requires you to adapt zone selection, needle technique, and Dao Yin in real time. With only 5 participants, you have a front-row seat for every case discussion — and both Dr Shy and Dr Chang make their reasoning visible at every step.
You Have Access to Two of the World's Top ZSA Educators — Directly
In a seminar, your question gets five minutes of stage time if you're lucky. In a 5-person clinical immersion, your question gets answered in the context of the patient in front of you — the only answer that actually matters. Dr Shy and Dr Chang are available to you throughout the entire day.
Trained Directly by Professor Zhu. Now Training You.
Dr Ru Shan Shy and Dr Sheng Chun Chang are co-directors of ZSA Taiwan and two of the most experienced Zhu's Scalp Acupuncture educators in the world. Together they've trained more than 2,000 students across Asia.
Dr Ru Shan Shy — PhD candidate, Yang-Ming University — Institute of Neuroscience. Bachelor of Medicine, China Medical University. A direct disciple of Professor Zhu and co-director of ZSA Taiwan. Dr Shy brings hospital-level clinical experience to this supervised training environment. As a former acupuncturist at China Medical University Hospital and current lecturer there, she combines rigorous academic training with deep expertise in treating serious neurological presentations — including stroke rehabilitation, brain injury, and complex pain conditions.
Dr Sheng Chun Chang — Degrees in Pharmacy, Neuroscience, and Chinese Medicine. Co-director of ZSA Taiwan. Former physician at Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital. A direct disciple of Professor Zhu. Dr Chang's rare combination of pharmacy, neuroscience, and Chinese medicine gives him an unusually broad clinical lens. He understands both the biomedical mechanisms of Zhu's Scalp Acupuncture and its classical theoretical foundations — and can translate fluently between both during live case discussions.

What a ZSA Guided Clinical Training Day Actually Looks Like
Every participant actively treats patients. This is not a seminar where you watch and take notes — it is a supervised clinical immersion.
From intake to reassessment — repeated, all day
- A patient walks in and tells you one thing — migraines. That's all you have to start.
- From that moment, Dr Shy and Dr Chang are guiding you through the intake. They're pointing out that this patient has walked in with their shoulders drawn up toward their ears — so before you even begin formulating a treatment, you're already checking for neck and shoulder involvement. Is there hypertension? Dizziness? Stress? Eye involvement? Tension elsewhere in the body? These are the things you know to ask as an Acupuncturist — and this is the environment where you learn how to actually ask them, read the answers, and let them shape your diagnosis.
- Then comes the ZSA treatment prescription. You will propose what treatment the patient receives. Dr Shy and Dr Chang respond to your reasoning — building on what's right, redirecting what isn't, and showing you what they would do and why.
- Then you needle. The teachers are right there — helping you locate the ZSA zones accurately, guiding your needle insertion, your stimulation technique, your choice of Dao Yin exercises. The correction happens in real time, on a real patient, with the full clinical context in front of you.
- Then you reassess. Did the migraine pain reduce? Has the neck or shoulder range of movement opened up? Is the patient reporting feeling different? The change — or the absence of it — is your next lesson.
- This repeats across the full day. Up to 20 patients, each presenting differently, each one a new clinical reasoning challenge. By the end, you've built more independent clinical experience in a single day than most Acupuncturists accumulate over months of solo practice.
